When The Princeton Review surveyed Wesleyans students for their annual guide to the nations Best Colleges, our professors received praise that included comments such as "Professors are definitely the best part of Wesleyan. [They are] totally dedicated and engaging." With hardly a negative word against them on student surveys, these "excellent," "open-minded" professors teach "challenging" material, and "encourage critical thinking and looking at things from different perspectives."
The vast majority of Wesleyan students earn acceptance into their first choice graduate programs. Most acknowledge the facts that 85% of Wesleyan's full-time faculty hold the highest degrees in their fields, our student-to-teacher ratio is a low 13:1, and that our professors (not TAs) teach in intimate seminar style rather than in a large lecture hall, contribute to their success.
